Encore Communications was appointed by Sigma Components – a manufacturer with sites across the UK and in China – to carry out a media relations campaign to raise awareness of its brand and capabilities in the aerospace sector.
Encore worked with the team to identify potential new stories, opinion pieces and features across the business, building these into a schedule to be released on an ongoing basis, developing the story and building momentum along the way.
Briefings were arranged with key editors to introduce them to the business, build relationships and provide material for articles for publication, with activity designed to ramp up around key trade exhibitions – e.g. Paris Airshow and Farnborough Airshow – ensuring Sigma is part of the pre-, at- and post-show chatter and driving footfall to their stand.
The programme also aimed to build relationships with key industry bodies, ensuring Sigma is front-of-mind for wider promotional opportunities.
The campaign to date has secured over 120 pieces of positive media coverage in key trade and regional publications. This includes news stories, profiles and multi-page features on the business and its capabilities across UK, US and European publications.
Its messages around ongoing investment, job creation, R&D work and international capabilites have also attracted significant attention beyond the media itself, with then Prime Minister David Cameron visiting the company’s stand at Farnborough Air Show and tweeting about their innovations, target customers proactively contacting them about their work, and the company being invited to present to trade delegations as an example of best practice for a UK company operating in Chinese markets.Back to Aerospace
