Maloney Metalcraft celebrates Petrofac contract

Maloney Metalcraft, part of Avingtrans plc’s Energy and Medical division, is celebrating a positive start to 2016 with the award of a £500,000 contract to provide components for a project in the North Sea.

The contract will see the Aldridge-based company designing and manufacturing two hydrocyclone vessels and associated pipe work used to remove the final traces of oil from water during the extraction process.

Design work is already underway with the finished components due for delivery by the middle of the year.

Austen Adams, managing director of Avingtrans’ Energy and Medical division, said: “This contract is a great start to the year for the business.

“As has been widely reported, the oil and gas industry has been going through a torrid time over the last 12-18 months, with many projects being put on hold as the oil price falls.

“However, this contract is proof that there is still work in the market for trusted suppliers with the experience and expertise to deliver high quality design and engineering services to the market.”
